First Meeting for New County Bail Bond Board

Titus County reaches a historic milestone on Monday afternoon as the first meeting is called for the new county bail bond board.

Creation of the board was unanimously approved by the commissioners last Jan. 10. The first meeting of the board will convene in the county courtroom at 3:30 p.m.

Lee said all bondsmen doing business in Titus County have been invited, and he hopes they all attend and offer their input.

Lee started the unprecedented process this year of holding bail bondsmen in default when their clients abscond, with two forfeiture hearings already held this year, in September and this past spring. | READ MORE

  3. Most municipalities and counties throughout the US and specifically in Nevada, should adopt bail bond boards. Great idea. Let's work together. A bail bonds agent in Las Vegas and a politician or law enforcement official walking hand-in-hand. Like a John Lennon song.

  4. My grandpa used to be a bails bond. He loved it, he would always tell us stories from his day. Of course, I think he elaborated them just a little for our benefit. It was sad the day he had to retire.

  5. I agree with Matt. It seems useful for counties to have bail bond boards. It's good to know that county governments are willing to sit with bail bondsmen to get their input for bail laws. The businessmen who sell bonds seem to know a lot about what changes need to be made to certain laws.
