NJ Governor Has Qualms About Bail Law


North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue will let an omnibus bill become law without her signature despite concerns about a provision that changes how bail bond agents can seek to get their money back through state courts, her office said Friday.

The Republican-led Legislature approved largely on party lines the omnibus bill that cleaned up other measures that became law this year. But it also contained a section that would make it easier for the state's bail bondsmen to recover money if a defendant skips court.

  2. Hey don't throw the bail bond baby out with the bath water. Yes there are some shady bondsmen out there, but it's okay to have a few laws go in our industry's favor now and again. Being a bail bonds agent in Las Vegas, I've had a front row seat for the good and bad of judicial bureaucracies and law enforcement.

  3. I think this is such and interesting debate. There are many valid points to having bail bonds as an option. In many cases, those who are arrested can't afford bail, but their trial isn't for a few months.   5. It's possible that this bill could have negative repercussions, but I think it's more likely to keep things the same. Bail bonds is a changing industry, and laws have to reflect that. If this does end up looking like a problem, then it can always be changed later. | http://www.ohiobailbonds.com
